Tutoring
Program Standards
Dr. Kronmiller’s tutoring program is a comprehensive program that builds the
student’s skill set, confidence and prepares the student for college.
The program is limited to ten students and includes; a weekly minimum two hour
tutoring session; daily text message and email support; preparation for ACT,
SAT, AP and PSAT tests; and college counseling including assistance in selection
and applying to colleges.
The tutoring covers all current courses excluding foreign languages with the
exception of Spanish, and Portuguese.
Although not required, I encourage parents to pay for the complete month on the first session of the month. This reduces administrative time during the session, decreases my costs and decreases scheduling issues.
Students with a grade report indicating a C or lower in one or more subjects are
encouraged to schedule a minimum of twice weekly sessions until their grade
improves to a B+/A- (88% or better) as proven by a grade report issued by the
school the student is attending.
The enrolled student has a personal webpage on phdtutor.com where studies,
videos and practices are posted. The webpage is password protected and cannot be
accessed by non-students. This page is used to provide daily assistance in class
work and test preparation.
The program includes occasional field trips to local sites such as The Palomar
Observatory etc. Expenses will be paid by the parents and Dr. Kronmiller will
notify parents of cost two weeks before the trip. An insurance release will be
required. Field trips are optional but encouraged to provide the student with
educational breadth and motivation.
In order for the program to be successful the student must meet regularly. The
following rules have been developed over time to help insure the success of the
student.
Rescheduling for sports activities requires the normal forty-eight hours notice
and will result in a credit towards a rescheduled session the same week.
In order to have a successful program, regular weekly meetings must occur and
for the sake of the student, parents must agree to maintain academic ethics,
standards, and provide a quiet safe place for studying. If these standards are
violated by the student or parent tutoring will be canceled and no credit will
be given.
This agreement can be cancelled by Dr. Kronmiller at any time; due to lack of
parental or student cooperation, or when Dr. Kronmiller deems it necessary and
no refund will be given.
By scheduling tutoring you are agreeing to these rules.
